Healing Begins in the Belly

Chi Nei Tsang Gut Health Energy Healing

Tending to your Bowl of Light

The abdomen, womb, and lower body are some of the most vulnerable parts of ourselves. This sacred center is a keeper of memory, intuition and emotion. It is where your life force first gathered, strengthened, and enlivened you before your first breath.

It is also where tension, grief and trauma can accumulate over time. And often, as the weight becomes too much to bear, we disconnect from ourselves. As this stagnation builds, it can begin to affect digestion, energy levels, sleep, and overall well-being.

Moonrise sessions are devoted to softening the heaviness and bringing lightness back to You.

A space to reclaim yourSelf, your center, your freedom.

  • "Dena is a natural, intuitive healer. She used her intuiting to place her hands where there were needed and for how long. She presents as very grounded, kind, open hearted and caring. She is able to move a lot of stuck energy too! Thanks Dena!"

About Dena

Hello and welcome to Moonrise.

To me, bodywork is a conversation. A dialogue between hands and bodies.

Very early on in life, I noticed that my hands could quietly soothe just by their presence. Later in life, my interests and gifts pulled me to listening deeply to the abdomen.

Over time, the theme of reMothering began arising strongly within my treatments.

I realized people were not only starving for touch, but for nurturing. For slowness. For deep listening. For someone to sense what was needed beyond words. Like how a mother knows when her child is hurting before anything is spoken.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • This is not a traditional spa massage, so it’s important to set clear expectations. You will remain clothed for the entirety of the session. While I may incorporate touch to the head, neck, shoulders, hands, and feet, much of the work is centered in the abdomen.

Through gentle yet energetically deep touch, I work with the organs — areas where tension, memory, and unprocessed experiences can accumulate over time. In Chinese medicine, each organ carries emotional and energetic qualities, and my goal is to restore flow and bring back your life force.

I also use essential oils and plant essences for further clearing, and may incorporate sound through singing or instruments.

Each session is completely unique, and the 90 minutes gives us the space to truly drop in with your body and feel what’s needed beneath the surface.

What you can expect is deep, nurturing work that will leave you feeling lighter, softer, and more present than when you walked in.

  • Although I am trained as a Reiki practitioner and work with the energetic body, my approach extends beyond Reiki. While Reiki is typically hands-off and centered on the chakra system, my work is hands-on and also addresses the physical body—supporting the release of stagnation held within areas such as the organs.

  • The treatment should not be painful. The touch is gentle yet deep, and I work with your body’s natural responses. Some areas may feel tender as we release tension or emotions, but I’ll always check in with you make sure you are comfortable.

  • You should wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your abdomen. I recommend avoiding tight or restrictive garments, as it may interfere with the treatment’s flow. You’ll remain fully clothed, with just your abdominal area exposed.

  • It’s best to avoid heavy meals an hour before your session. A light snack is fine, but having a lighter stomach helps your body be more receptive to the treatment. You’ll feel more comfortable during the session without the pressure of digestion.
